Dear eBay customer-
Thank you for looking at my listing. Here’s a little info on my business, shipping charges and pricing:
My name is Tim Van Schmidt and my eBay business name is “facetmulti.” My eBay store name is “BlueSky Miniatures and Collectibles.” I live in Fort Collins, Colorado- right at the foothills of the Rocky Mountains- and I manufacture “miniature unpainted ceramic bisque.” I have been a miniature maker since 1980 and have been selling on eBay since January 2004. I do every part of the business myself- from crafting the items to managing the eBay listings and e-mail- so you can be assured that every single order I receive gets personal attention.
My minimum shipping and handling charge has just recently been raised to $2.25. Sometimes customers confuse the actual cost of postage with this charge and I would like to explain that this charge refers to the shipping and handling SERVICE that I offer.
Every initial order- no matter how small- gets the same treatment. Every purchase is loosely packaged in plastic then placed into a custom shipping container created from recycled materials, securely packed with loose recycled plastic material. The container is sealed, then placed inside an envelope, which is also sealed and reinforced. Larger orders are grouped in paper bags and packed in a recycled box along with recycled packing peanuts.
The high cost of fuel, the recent hike in postal rates and consistently long lines makes each trip to mail out orders expensive in time and money. The minimum charge I have settled on is a true reflection of what I feel it really takes to get your order sent safely and securely.
My current shipping policy is that I take groupings of orders to the post office about once a week. I try to deal with each purchase in the order that they are received. My basic guarantee is that I will ship all paid orders within ten days from when the payment was received. I will e-mail you and leave feedback on eBay when your purchase has been shipped. If you have a specific deadline in mind, PLEASE let me know and I will try to accommodate you. YES- I will combine shipping charges for multiple purchases- please e-mail me when you are finished shopping and I will send you a combined invoice. Here are my basic rates: Minimum domestic shipping $2.25, add $.35 for each additional purchase; Minimum international shipping $3.35, add $.45 for each additional purchase.
Recently, I have also changed the base pricing for my miniature unpainted ceramic bisque. The new price hikes- somewhat significant in some cases- are also a true reflection of what it really takes to manufacture and market these items on eBay. As with the shipping and handling charge, what I charge for my items not only must cover the material and work that goes into them, but also for all the fees associated with selling them as well as the significant amount of time it takes to keep track of the purchases (not to mention the many questions people ask, with and without purchases.) However, along with these expenses, I also guarantee that you will be receiving the highest quality craftsmanship that I am able to muster, using unique designs and full-time care.
I am always open to discussing bulk ordering. I can create a special eBay listing for any combination of items.
Thanks for your interest in my products!!

These miniature bisque items are handcrafted by an American artisan. Each is "slip cast" in an original design plaster mold. The pieces are then dried, sanded and scrubbed, then wiped with a wet sponge to smooth over the surface. Then the pieces are fired in a standard electric kiln to cone 04. The bisque is hard and ready to be painted. Crafters can use a wide variety of paint or ink for decoration, or ceramic glaze fired to cone 06. All miniatures are scaled 1" to 1'.
